Anyone planning on trying south shore today? Looks like it will be the perfect direction. Could also try Waukegan...

SSYC is often lighter than predicted or what the breakwall windmeter reads. I'm going to try to get a beach report from Jacob before going to SSYC....

Well, I got a new foil and would love to try it out... if I can get a kite in the air, I think that would be good for me. Let us know Jacob. Thanks.

At south shore now. My wind meter says 13.4 with gusts at 15 but gusts are few and far between. Pretty light right now.

Racine was killer. 10m kite and surfboard plenty powered 95% of the time. A 12m would have been best with a twin tip though. Clean, warm water, even saw a live fish! Second time in all my years on the big lake to see a live fish. Beach was wide open too.

Heard Brian got interviewed at SSYC by the channel 58, anyone see it?

Big Joe, what foil did you get?

I got a slingshot hoverglide - it was my first time with this setup and it was really nice. The wind at ssyc was very stable and the flat water made it easy to get comfortable on it. It was very easy to get up on foil and going fast never got squirrley like the cabrina did. My upwind performance was also surprising - I was able to ride the along the wall the whole way in one tack. I could go anywhere!! Super fun.

Glad you had power, I was a little worried it would be light there too. It would have been cool to kite with you, but with the big waves and uncertain wind, I figured it would be safest to stay at south shore. Next time!!

Joe - what wing are u using on your hoverglide?

Stafford - how has racine been affected by high water. I remember that beach as long and flat.. i am sure there is still alot of space but is it noticeable?

Racine looks pretty much the same, but high waves can flood the wide beach and leave big pools of water.
