Saturday 9/21

Postby dmonn » Fri Sep 20, 2019 12:50 pm

Looking good for tomorrow afternoon. I think it's going to be a game time call to see if I go to Sheboygan, Bradford, or Pike. I'm hoping for the big lake--not the little one.

I'm thinking that's the best bet based on the forecast. If it shifts to SSW, Bradford still works but Sheboygan doesn't. SSW is OK at Pike, but due south doesn't work. I'll probably hit Bradford early afternoon.

Since Bonnie wants to windsurf and some of my grandkids want to wingsurf, I will be kiting at home - good wind direction fortunately.

At sheboygan now. Absolutely no wind on beach. Kites all over beach but none in the air. How is it elsewhere?

Bradford was good until about 2:00 when the rain hit. Tough at the south end, but not bad at the north end. Very shifty, sometimes a bit side-off for a short while. Kenosha guys were there, but I was the only local. My 13 was too big, but my 9 has a small leak.

Wind in Muskego was great before the rain, but by 2:00 not enough to kite anymore. Played with sail and wing in the rain, not many boardshorts days left. The rain did sting a bit in the gusts.

I launched at McKinely hoping there would be less wind shadow than Badford, uh, I mean Bradford. There was less but it was really still quite gusty. I rode the 7m Flysufer Soul and Nobile hydrofoil up through the main gap and out to the sailboat race and back, then the same 7m and a 139 tt. Was packing up in the first rain drops.

Stafford, so that was you I saw upwind of Bradford. I wondered who that was. I wound up packing up in the rain and walking back upwind from the north end of the beach.

Had a great session at deadwood point FDL. We were on 9m (it was hauling when we got there).
Could have handled an 11m, but we had fun and really enjoyed the shallow water with smaller chop
