Well, given the forecast methinks I am going to play in my back yard, hard to say when rain will stop and wind shift. NW not optomal, but with that much wind (gusts projected near 40 mph) should be enough to work with.

Had a nice morning session in my back yard with SE wind, came in when I could see rain approaching. Enjoying lunch for now, then back out with NW wind now. Glad the approaching rain warned me of the transition, there were gusts near 40 shortly after I left the water! Swamp should work good enough, but Pike better - but I do not feel like driving in a wet wetsuit, will settle for less than optimal.

Tough afternoon session, winds 0-30 and shifty. NW or whatever that was not optimal in my back yard. Bet Pike was better, Don?

I didn't kite yesterday. The rain didn't clear out early enough for me. Today I hope to get to Pike by about 11.

JV, why not change out of your wetsuit before you drive home?

I hate getting into and out of wetsuits. Put it on before 11am, took ot off after 4pm. Hope it is dry for today...

Today my back yard is looking pretty good!

I'm at Pike Lake right now, and it just stopped raining. The radar shows one more sprinkle coming, so I'm headed back to Slinger to get something to eat. I should be back at Pike by 1.

Several hours in the water with frequent gusts near 40mph, wind above 25mph much of the time. Need a smaller wing, should have kited. Tired, but good day....

Pike was fun today. The sun broke through and the wind picked up and shifted to WSW. My 8m kite was plenty of kite. The mid-lake hole in the wind was there for a while, but there were enough puffs to get across the lake pretty easily. About 3:00 the wind shifted to west, and cranked big time. No hole in the wind when it's from the west. Only two boats on the lake, one kiter (me ) and two windsurfers. What a great day!
