Drysuit will come in handy this weekend, south winds Sat with some afternoon rain, then big west winds for the truely ambitious Sun. Got some new gloves in OBX thai I am anxious to test in my back yard...

Racine North Beach is very nice. Much bigger than Bradford. The breakwall isn't straight east-west so it doesn't block the waves entirely. However, it should help. If you've never been there, it's beautiful but it is often similar to Bradford for rough water.

I'm going to Bradford myself with a bunch of kites that I got on trade in that I want to test before I sell them.

Didn’t get out last time and my son still wants to try wing foiling. He and I are going to little Muskego - may be on your island JV. Planning on launching from the beach though. I know it isn’t going to be ideal, but it will be much less wavy and hopefully a good place to learn to wing foil!!

Big Joe, you are always welcome to launch from my island, and park at my house to get over to the island, but there are some things you need to know regarding foiling... It is shallow on north end of lake, especially in the winter when water lowered 18 inches as it is right now. Though you will be able to kite if we get that south wind, foiling in some places will be almost impossible. What I have been doing is foiling on south and mid section of the lake which is up to 65 ft deep and no weed issues. I have permission to launch from a friend's house, the other big island on our lake with a house on it. I launch there and when done just drag myself through the TERRIBLE weeds to get back to my house. If you look online for a map of Little Muskego Lake with water depth indicated, you will understand the issue. Silver Lake in Racine county is a better choice right now, assuming we get enough west in the wind.

You could probably get away with launching from beach and with a short mast get on foil, but expect weeds and extra shallow water.

Bradford was nuking. 7m weather for me. BBR, Don, Steve and Kiran were all out. Stafford was boosting to the moon, I played in the quite clean waves that were actually much better at the North end of the beach. Great day.

Big Joe, good to see you and your sons in my back yard today. Sorry, but the wind came up about a force about the time you guys left. Your son on the wing did not quite get to the weed-free water, let me know if/when he wants to try again and I will see if he can launch with me at my friend's house. I gotta respect all the walking he did to get to the deeper weed-free area though!!!

I went out with 5m wing briefly, (must be the optimist in me), but quickly went back and changed to 7m. That was better until the wind eventually came up a force... My new gloves from OBX (Real Watersports) rocked EXCEPT that with my drysuit it was shutting off circulation in my left wrist and I kept having to deal with that. When I get that worked out I think I have gloves that keep my fingers as warm as mittens but do not wear out my hands.

Kiran and I got our asses kicked as it continued to build- still if we keep throwing ourselves at the bigger stuff we will get the hang of it one day.
Kudos to BBR- don’t know how he does that all day with so much more kite than everyone

Wow, what a day! Bradford was certainly Mork and Mindy! It was great to surf through, over and into waves today... I don't know if my legs have ever ached this much after a session.

Happy to hold down 13m (it was pretty much perfect) today too Steve! Thanks for helping launching and landing. Good to see the kite lads out there!

I must be getting old or lazy... Watching the 40mph+ gusts blow across the lake from the comfort of my rocking chair in my living room hasn't caused me to muster the ambition to put on my drysuit... Maybe still tired from yesterday? Anyway, kudos to anyone out there that went out to do battle today!!
